FRONTERRA transforms forests and rural lands from simple “cost centers” into durable, high-yield Real Assets. When the market thinks of Natural Capital as an investable, stable asset class, they think of Fronterra projects.
1. The Core: Building the Asset
Our foundation is physical and human. We aggregate fragmented community lands, buffer zones, and key national park conservation areas into cohesive management units. By rigorously restoring and protecting these ecosystems, we build the underlying asset itself.
Born in France, rooted in Peru, and scaling across Latin America, we secure 40-year government concessions and community leases based on deep trust, disciplined FPIC, and shared, lasting value.
2. The Enablers: Engineering, Legal and Finance
To make these landscapes investable, we layer institutional-grade infrastructure on top of the physical asset. We apply the discipline of traditional natural resource development—engineering, legal, and financial—but reversed in purpose: not to extract value by degrading ecosystems, but to build wealth by restoring them.
- Engineering & Tech: We use platform-grade technology to productize origination. Our Geo-MRV engine fuses satellite and drone data into auditable carbon inventories, while our SocialTech modules ensure transparent benefit distribution.
- Legal & Finance: We structure SPVs and finance-grade contracts that blend concessional capital with private investment. This provides the legal certainty and accounting clarity that institutional investors demand.
3. The Result: A Stable, High-Return Asset Class
This combination allows us to productize carbon and biodiversity into a stable, high-return asset class that competes with traditional infrastructure investments.
Carbon Integrity & Market Access
Our technical rigor is matched by regulatory security. We follow IFC Performance Standards and best-in-class VERRA VM0047 & VM0048 methodologies (ICVCM and CCP approved). Crucially, these are fully endorsed by Peru’s Ministry of Environment under the national registry (RENAMI). This ensures our credits are eligible for Article 6 export agreements (including with Singapore), giving institutional capital a clear, secure route-to-market.
Biodiversity Leadership & Innovation
FRONTERRA is pioneering the future of the asset class. We are developing the first standardized and auditable biodiversity certificates in Peru.
- European Alignment: We are developing a pilot methodological framework in collaboration with the EU Commission and the Biodiversity Certificates Organisation of France (OBC), utilizing our Sierra del Divisor National Park project as a flagship pilot for EU Nature Credits.
- National Compliance: We strictly adhere to SERNANP’s biological monitoring protocols and MINAM’s MERESE guidelines, ensuring our framework is scientifically robust and legally compliant.
The Fronterra Commitment
With FRONTERRA, communities, governments, and institutional capital gain access to a governance platform with the skills and trust needed to deploy capital at scale, making forest conservation, land rehabilitation, and ecosystem restoration permanently valuable.
