FRONTERRA Nature-Based Solutions: Carbon and Biodiversity Credits, High Social Impact
FRONTERRA Nature-Based Solutions: Carbon and Biodiversity Credits, High Social Impact
We are FRONTERRA, a French-Peruvian nature-based solutions project development company.
Our mission is to provide NBS project development, implementation and operation solutions to local communities, governments, corporates, and investors, who look for experienced and trustworthy partners in the Andes Amazon region and abroad in Latin America.
With offices in Peru and France, we have plans to bring our vast experience to the whole Andes Amazon region (Peru, Colombia, Ecuador), Central America (Guatemala, Belize and South of Mexico) and some Brazilian states, onboarding investors and corporates from mainland Europe and the UK to make our projects happen!
Our team is one of the most experienced in the forest carbon market, having participated in leading roles such as the creation of Peru’s ministry of environment, creation of several natural protected areas and launch of flagship forest carbon projects or pioneer natural capital funds.
Our team is a team of explorers, composed of seasoned professionals in tropical forestry, natural protected areas management, public policy, social sciences, business administration and environmental finance, who have a special taste for project execution and field work.
We believe that tropical forest conservation, responsible forest management and forest restoration are the key to preserving the opportunity for future generations to have a meaningful quality of life.
We passionately commit (only) to community-based projects that are extremely additional in terms of climate, biodiversity, and social impact, and which their technical robustness is not tradable for economic gains. This may result, sometimes, in less profitable projects at the first glance, more difficult to finance in the current high interest rate environment, but our approach certainly results in unquestionable projects in terms of their technical basis and impact, therefore less risky operations. We build on the rock, not sand.
We believe in the power of business, when implemented under the boundaries of work ethics and mutual respect, to accelerate social changes in favour of incremental quality of life for local communities.
We put our expertise to the service of this cause.
Our team of explorers work tirelessly in the deforestation fronts of our project areas to onboard farmers and communities in the conservation efforts to stop forest clearing and engage in the long-term protection of natural protected areas and restoration of buffer zones.

Project co-construction sessions, to open the dialogue with local communities to establish an intercultural dialogue, based on trust. A fluid dialogue is key to rightly assess the socio-economic context of the communities, the agents and drivers of deforestation and forest degradation, so we are able to co-construct effective interventions.
It's always hard to leave places where we are so welcome. However, the welcoming and hope of people is what fuels our passion and dedication to never let them down, and continue despite the economic challenges of doing impactful interventions in very remote places, particularly in a context where carbon markets are discredited, and investors are wary of market fluctuations.
Our country chair, Carlos Mogollon, is taking two UK fund managers to visit one of our projects' locations. We always do our best to welcome visitors to show them our work and hope to increase the number of partners committed to the forest conservation and land restoration agenda of Fronterra and its partners.
Sharing is caring: with our visitors, communities and our partners of CEDIA, enjoying a early local breakfast before a long day of work.
It's always difficult to say good bye...

Our Graduate Training Programme in Forestry & Carbon Engineering (forestry, GIS, environment degrees) and Social Sciences (Sociology, Anthropology degrees) is open to Peruvian, Latinoamerican and European students who want to have a first work experience in a hands-on stimulating environment trained by seasoned experts. The objective of the programme is to train the future talent of our company.
If you are finishing (or have finished) your graduate programme, and you have a special taste for field work, data, empathy for people and passion for nature, we want to talk to you!
